Wes Naman

I chose Wes Naman to represent 'Abornormal' because of two particular projects. 'Invisible Tape' and 'Rubber Band'. To me, these projects represent deformities and have a comical theme of what can be done to the human face to make it look deformed and abnormal. What I like about these two shoots from Naman is the comedy in the images. The models often look like they're laughing or smiling, most likely at themselves. Some of the images could be classes as abnormal because of the makeup or costume chocie; for example, one image is of a female model in what looks like a childrens, princess fancy dress outfit, and also a male model with paint on his face, which is out or the ordinary and fairly abnormal for an adult to be wearing. The images consist of the tape compressing the skin together, whether it be pressing the lips far enough over to the cheek. I really like this idea because it's a practical way of creating a distorted and abnormal image.

The second shoot I looked at was 'Rubber Band'. Again this shoot represents 'Abnormal' very well.
