P O W E R

Tim Barber is a fashion and portrait photographer I have chosen based on his work for NIKE. This particular shoot is designed for the sports brand and he has instructed his models to be active when modelling the brand's clothes and shoes as an accurate representation of what the brand supports. The shoot features the models running/jogging through city landscapes. Not only does this shoot show motion images of the models running, there are also still portrait shots of the models. I feel some of these stills show elements of this with the body language, these images stood out to me because it gave me the idea of photographing stills between exercise with my model portraying what the cardio is doing to him in facial expression and body language. I feel this shoot could portray more emotional outlook on the exercise and the effects it has on the body and mind. I like that this shoot is in black and white purely for how simple it make it look focusing on the model rather than the landscape. Although the landscapes are interesting and carry a lot of detail in artistic and architectural ideas with graffiti and the building structures and details, I believe the idea of this is to try to portray a distraction for the runner, as if the artistic influences around them take their mind off the hard work. I feel I could portray a deeper idea into my images with the idea of pushing through the pain with an artistic landscape outlook.
